Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a cook. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our dietary services, focusing on providing high-quality meal preparation and food service. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly in dietary departments or fine dining settings, and will demonstrate a passion for culinary excellence.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
  • Assist in menu planning to ensure a variety of nutritious and appealing options for our clients.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food handling processes.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
  • Utilize knife skills effectively for food preparation tasks.
  • Provide exceptional food service, catering to the needs of clients during meal times.
  • Support the dietary department with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in the dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
  • Background in fine dining or restaurant environments is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
  • Familiarity with menu planning and catering services is a plus.
  • Excellent knife skills and ability to handle various kitchen equipment safely.
  • Commitment to maintaining food safety standards and best practices in food handling.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Pay: From $14.50 per hour
