<p><strong>Job Description:</strong></p>
<p>Successful applicants for the First Officer position at UPS must have the ability to perform Part 121 revenue flying and maintain all FAA required licenses, ratings, and certifications. Flight crews are responsible for the safe, on time, and efficient operation of UPS aircraft.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>All applicants must possess the following qualifications:</p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>Required Skills:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Hold a current unrestricted ATP certificate with an Airplane category multi-engine class rating and English proficiency endorsement.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Hold a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Hold an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Must have a valid passport and documentation allowing for entry into the United States after an International flight.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Have a minimum of 1500 hours of total fixed-wing pilot time.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Minimum of 1000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) hours in fixed-wing jet and/or fixed-wing multi-engine turboprop per 14 CFR 1.1.</p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>UPS will allow military candidates to add a plus (.3) per sortie factor to flight time.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Pilot in Command, per 14 CFR 1.1, means the person who:</p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Has final authority and responsibility for the operation and safety of the flight.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Has been designated as the pilot in command before or during the flight.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Holds the appropriate category, class, and type rating, if appropriate, for the conduct of the flight.</p>
</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>Preferred Skills:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Recent and type of experience will be considered; for example, preference given to candidates with demonstrated flight experience in transport category aircraft within the last 12 months from date of application.</p>
</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Interpersonal Skills:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Work cooperatively with others, including those who may hold divergent views.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Communicate orally within a cockpit environment to clearly convey procedures, conversation, and radio transmissions.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Capability of decision making under stress.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>The ability to adapt to diversified flight schedules, situations, or scenarios.</p>
</li>
</ul>

<p>As part of the UPS pre-employment process for a safety sensitive position, a drug screen is required. UPS must receive a negative test result before you can be put into a safety sensitive position (14 CFR Part 120.107).</p>
