Full-time Firefighter Paramedic, under direction of a Lieutenant, responds to fire, medical, water rescues, and other emergency calls promptly to protect the lives and property of those in need of assistance. Provides emergency medical treatment at the Paramedic level; ensures quality medical treatment and transportation for patients to appropriate medical facilities. Performs duties in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and medical protocol. Maintains vehicles, supplies, and equipment, and prepares required records and reports.

With its headquarters located in beautiful Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, the Pinellas Suncoast Fire & Rescue District (PSFRD) is a career fire and emergency medical services department that serves the communities of Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Shores, Belleair Beach, Belleair Shore, and the unincorporated area of Pinellas County known as Oakhurst. PSFRD offers outstanding benefits, including, but not limited to:

  • Minimum starting salary of $65,100; 5% annual step increases within the step plan as well as incentive pay.
  • A 24/48 schedule, with a Kelly Day every 7th shift.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • State of Florida Certified Firefighter & Paramedic
  • PHTLS/ITLS, ACLS, CPR, EPC/PALS
  • EMTs currently enrolled in a Paramedic program will be considered.
  • CPAT required, unless currently employed by a department that requires CPAT as a conditional to employment. Other applicants must have passed CPAT within one year of application or prior to final job offer being extended.
  • Must qualify under the Medical Director to operate as a Paramedic in Pinellas County within one year.
  • Must pass a criminal background check, physical examination, and drug screen, as well as be tobacco-free.
