Job Overview
Procedure Title: Receiving- Decanting Warehouse Worker

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

SUMMARY:

Under general direction, this position receives stores, decants, and distributes material, tools, equipment and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. Ensures that received goods are verified against bills of lading, purchase orders, invoices and other documents and that they are properly stored and distributed to internal locations in a timely manner. Under general direction is also responsible for inventory control, issuing materials as needed (FIFO), and conducting regular inventories. The below list of Task, Duties and Responsibilities are not all inclusive. Every position at Taylor Farms Illinois is “hands-on” and other duties may be assigned or assumed as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Unloads trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, and color or product code.
  • Assist in counting of physical inventory
  • Maintains storage area by organizing floor space Delivers supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items
  • Utilizes the system to Issue all product to the floor
  • Maintains Items in the correct bin location
  • Maintains the receiving and storage area in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Operates forklifts and pallet jacks and ensures that equipment is in working order
  • Demonstrates proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies and safe work habits

10. Demonstrates ability to work independently

11. Rearrange stock locations as required

  • Maintain hallway stock neat and orderly
  • Maintain pick locations neat and orderly

14. Works quickly and efficiently to unload, palletize, move product, decant liquids, scans and prints label

15. Maintain a satisfactory attendance record

16. Rotate stock selecting older items first

17. Follows safe work procedures

18. Performs duties under supervision

19. Helps others complete tasks

20. Able to multitask and do other functions

21. Reports discrepancies to appropriate departments

  • Ensures receiving and storage area are kept in a clean and orderly fashion
  • Ensure Quality & Food Safety, as well as overall employee safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:

· Dependability

· Effective communication skills.

· Proficient computer skills.

· Skills in food and material handling.

· Knowledge of the food industry

· Ability to multi-task in a fast moving environment.

· Must be flexible and a team player.

· Ability for work a full-time schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

· Ability to lift 50 pounds and to stand for extended periods of time.

· Ability to work in a refrigerated environment

· Basic PC skills

· Forklift skills (Stand Up preferably)

· Strong communication, organizational and follow-through skills

Requirements

· High School or GED

· Receiving/storage experience in a food products environment

· Math proficiency

  • Warehouse: 1 year (Required)
  • Food industry: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:
