Manufacturing Engineering Internship, Fall 2022 (LA, CA) id-9647
Role Description
About the Role – You will:
- Gain practical experience in a hands-on environment.
- Work on projects and programs currently in progress at Proterra, which allows interns to apply knowledge that contributes to the overall business.
- Assist with various projects split across the key areas of production.
- Support Manufacturing Engineering Staff with production operations support, continuous improvement and design for manufacturability, and change management/new product release.
- Assist Maintenance team to automate Spare part list replenishment and PM schedule.
- Create work instructions for different maintenance tasks
- Support maintenance team on special projects
- Coordinate with internal customers in areas of assigned responsibility.
- Have opportunities to propose new ideas or improvement concepts.
- Work with a mentor that will support and be a resource for you during your internship

- You will report to the **Manufacturing Engineering Manager **and may collaborate with other team members across our different locations in Burlingame, CA, Los Angeles, CA and Greenville, SC.

Your Experience Includes:
- Enrollment in a Bachelors program for the Fall 2022 semester in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Outside projects experience preferred
- Must be in your Junior year or later in your current program
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Apply the theory from college/university course work to real world scenarios / situations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
You might also have:
- Experience with 3D CAD (CATIA or SolidWorks is preferred)
- Ability to be proactive in communication with all levels within the organization.
- Some programming experience preferred
- Understanding of problem-solving steps and processes to apply in a real-world situation.
