Responsibilities
- Performs the most difficult and highly specialized professional surgical work in his field or specialty.Direct patient care.
- Supervision/Teaching/Guidance of house staff and other members of the surgical/medical team.
- Attends weekly staff conferences.
- Assists in the maintenance of standard of performance of physicians and of other professional employees working in the service.
- Performs related work as required or as directed by the Chief of Service or Director of Service.
- Takes appropriate precautions while maintaining patient and staff confidentiality.
- Takes the necessary precautions to ensure patient safety.
- Takes necessary precautions to ensure the organization’s patient safety goals.
- Participates and assists the Chief of Surgery in tasks and generation of metrics to support quality assurance and performance improvement for the Department of General Surgery and the Pediatric Surgery Division
Qualifications
- Current licensed NYS registration certificate
- Current DEA licensed certification
- Board Eligible/Board Certified
- Graduated from approved Medical School
- Completion of approved residency in specialty
- ACLS/ATLS/PALS certification or eligible to obtain
Wages and Benefits Include
Annual Base Salary: $425,000* based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $515,020**, which includes the baseline salary, 401 (k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:
- Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.
- 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
- Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
- After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
