About the position
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily operations at our FedEx facility in Sarasota, FL. This full-time position offers a competitive salary starting at $63,000 per year. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience specifically with FedEx Ground. This role requires a strong commitment to operational excellence, effective communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all drivers adhere to company policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of customer service, and addressing any customer complaints that may arise. The Operations Manager will report directly to the General Manager and the owner of the facility. A critical aspect of this role is the ability to manage and train drivers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and efficiently. The candidate must be computer literate and possess a clean driving record, as they will be required to operate various vehicles, including 26 ft bulk trucks and step vans. In this position, the Operations Manager will also be responsible for checking trucks to ensure compliance with DOT requirements and will need to be familiar with handling code 85s and disputes, responding to FedEx within 24 hours. The role demands a first-in, last-out mentality, and the ability to jump into any route on short notice. Candidates must be able to provide references and a resume, and must have a clean personal background. This position requires flexibility in working hours, with a typical shift being 10 hours long, and may include both day and night shifts, as well as weekend work. The successful candidate will be a team player with strong people skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
