Opportunities for Full Time/Part Time and On-call for Summer 2025 or ongoing weekend work (immediate need)
Compensation: $42-$45/hr. based on experience
Summer 2025 Dates: June 5th 2025-August 21st 2025 * RN's can choose flexible schedule and commit to dates within this time frame or commit to the whole summer! On call opportunities available as well
Ongoing weekend Support: Immediate need for RN's to support our Weekend camps supporting children and Adults with disabilities (part time/on-call opportunities available)
* Must have CA license

ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Assist in the leadership of the health program at Via West, and responds to any emergency;
- Manage medical records of participants and staff, supervise health and cleanliness standards;
- Help provide Nursing care for everyone at camp under the supervision of the Health Center Manager
- Administer Medication to Campers
- Provide Emergency Medical Care
- Triage and provide nursing care to participants and staff
- Complete Health Screening of Campers and Staff
- Follow appropriate medical routines, including record keeping in the daily health log, disposal of medical waste, managing and safeguarding medications, and utilizing appropriate standing orders to administer medications and treatments
- other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

Minimum experience and qualifications:
- Current California RN license in good standing is required (see note)
- Current CPR or BLS certification
- At least 18 years of age
- Professional experience working with children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities is preferred.
- At least three years of experience as an RN preferred
- Prior recent Med Administration/ Management experience or Prior experience as an LVN/ LPN in hospital / institutional care settings (i.e. residential programs that support people with I/DD nursing homes, assisted living or programs serving MH populations or prisons)
Other desirable experience and qualifications but not required:
• Previous residential camp experience
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
- Proof of negative TB test results
- Proof of TDAP
- Verification of occupational physical clearance
- Pass a criminal fingerprint clearance
- 18 years of age
- Verification of eligibility to work in the US
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

- Ability to lift and jointly transfer clients - may require lifting up to 45 lbs, with peer support and does require bending at the waist and knee
- Ability to be on your feet, standing, walking, and occasional running for a significant part of the day
- Ability to perform static standing for up to 45 minutes at a time
- Ability to walk over uneven terrain
- Ability to sit for up to 45 minutes, 3 - 6 times daily
