**Job Description** **Key Responsibilities:** + Architect, design, and develop high-quality embedded software for IVHM products, adhering to GE processes and the rigorous standards of DO-178C. + Monitor continuous software integration and testing efforts, identifying software anomalies and devising robust solutions. + Provide mentorship and support to less experienced team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth. + Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met, contributing to the overall success of the IVHM organization.
**Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college. + Minimum of 10 years of experience in avionics software development. + This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.
**Desired Characteristics:** + Master's degree in STEM, with a focus on Software Engineering. + Demonstrable experience with the software design lifecycle in an aerospace or similar safety-regulated environment, including familiarity with DO-178C. + Proficiency in Ada, C, and C++ programming languages, and experience with tools such as DOORS, RTC, Git, and Eclipse.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical challenges and solutions to a diverse audience. + Proven leadership qualities, with a track record of successfully managing projects and leading teams. + An openness to learning and adaptability to new challenges.
Experience with Agile software development practices and/or lean methodologies. The base pay range for this position is $121,500 - $162,100. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.
This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on March 21st, 2025.
