About the position
The firm is seeking a Coverage Opinion Writing Attorney who will work closely with insurers to provide expert advice and analysis on insurance coverage matters. This position is entirely remote, allowing the attorney to work from anywhere in the United States while adhering to Pacific Standard Time (PST) work hours. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of various insurance policies and will be skilled in drafting comprehensive coverage opinions. This role does not involve litigation, focusing instead on providing legal insights and interpretations of insurance contracts. Key responsibilities include collaborating with insurers to offer advice on insurance coverage, analyzing different types of insurance policies across various industries, and drafting detailed coverage opinions based on thorough policy analysis and contract interpretation. The attorney will also be responsible for maintaining effective communication with clients and internal team members, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned on coverage matters. The firm has set a billable hour target of 1850 hours per year, which is standard for this type of position. The firm has been established for over 30 years and is recognized for its large firm resources while being women-owned. Candidates should have at least 7 years of attorney experience, with a minimum of 4 years specifically in California coverage law. A valid California bar license is required, and the ability to work PST hours is essential for this role.
