Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administer chemotherapy treatments and other medications as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions to treatments and intervene as necessary
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, side effects, and symptom management
- Coordinate care with oncologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and effective care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current on best practices in oncology nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Certification in infusion therapy and oncology chemo
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in oncology or infusion therapy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of chemotherapy drugs, side effects, and safe administration practices
- BLS certification required, ACLS certification preferred
