Job Description

The United States Department of Defense is seeking a dynamic and experienced Protocol Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage complex protocol processes and coordinate multiple events. As the Protocol Specialist, you will be responsible for providing protocol support to the Department of Defense, from planning and coordinating events to managing relationships with diplomatic and other high-level officials. We are looking for someone with a commitment to excellence who is eager to take on challenging and rewarding work.

To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, or a related field, and a minimum of three years of experience in protocol and/or event planning. You must also have a strong understanding of diplomatic etiquette and protocol, as well as experience in dealing with foreign dignitaries and high-level officials. In addition, you must have excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position requires discretion, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at once. Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and coordinate events for the Department of Defense
  2. Manage relationships with diplomatic and high-level officials
  3. Maintain knowledge of diplomatic etiquette and protocol
  4. Work with foreign dignitaries and high-level officials
  5. Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
  6. Ensure accuracy and attention to detail
  7. Develop and implement policies and procedures related to protocol
  8. Monitor progress of events and protocol activities
  9. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  10. Prepare and manage budgets for events and activities
  11. Utilize excellent organizational and communication skills
  12. Work independently and as part of a team to successfully complete projects.
