Responsibilities
- Follow instructions from supervisors and assist other team members in performing limited store functions.
- Model the Purple Promise to ensure every FedEx experience is outstanding.
- Assemble parcels and prepare goods for shipping by wrapping items, weighing packages, and affixing labels.
- Demonstrate consultative behaviors to understand each customer's individualized needs.
- Resolve all customer problems quickly and to the satisfaction of the customer.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly retail store environment.
- Ensure confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents and packages.
- Assist with processing financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal, including handling cash and making change.
- Clean and stock all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies.
- Stay current on retail store merchandising materials and ensure proper display of all products and signage.
- Take preemptive action to prevent errors and waste.
- Follow FedEx Office standard operating procedures and adhere to legal, HR, safety, customer service, and security policies.
- Perform multiple tasks simultaneously and look for opportunities to improve knowledge and skills within the retail store.
- Adhere to all FedEx Office standards as outlined in the Team Member Handbook.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand during the entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods.
- Ability to move and lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend/twist at the waist and knees consistently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members consistently.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment under substantial pressure consistently.
- Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time consistently.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision consistently.
- Regular attendance and reporting to work as required.
