Job Title: Part-Time Advancement Assistant
Location: Minneapolis, MN, potential for up to 50% remote
Job Type: Part-Time, Hourly (15-20 hours per week)
Salary Range: $18-20/hour, depending on experience
Scheduling: 15-20 hours a week, with at least 10 hours in-person, within normal business hours (Monday-Friday 9am-6pm)

Theatre in the Round Players (TRP) is a community theatre that endeavors to stage high quality performances while providing open entry points to learning the art of theatre-making through our main stage productions, free workshops and classes, assistantships, and mentoring programs.
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented candidate with a passion for diversity and inclusion to support the theatre’s growth efforts. The key responsibilities of this part-time role will be customized to fit the skills, experience, and interest of the chosen candidate.
Like many nonprofits, we are a small staff and wear multiple hats, this role has to potential to assist with engaging donors, identifying potential funding, increasing community awareness, and/or promoting our programs and events. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to contribute and develop their skills while gaining valuable nonprofit experience.

- Help develop and schedule social media posts across multiple platforms to promote events and campaigns.
- Update website content, ensuring accurate and engaging information.
- Create and distribute email newsletters and press releases.
- Collaborate on the creation of marketing collateral, such as flyers, programs, and ads.
- Conduct targeted outreach to specific audiences to increase event attendance and engagement.
Grants Management:
- Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with the organization’s mission and programs.
- Assist in drafting, editing, and submitting grant proposals and reports.
- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submissions.
- Track grant outcomes and support communication with funders as needed.
Corporate Sponsorship:
- Identify and research potential corporate sponsors aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
- Assist in developing sponsorship packages and proposals.
- Maintain relationships with corporate sponsors through regular communication and updates.
- Coordinate sponsor recognition efforts, including logo placements, event mentions, and social media acknowledgments.
General:
- Assist with event logistics, including on-site support at performances and fundraisers.
- Respond to inquiries from donors, patrons, and the general public.
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the team.
Required Qualifications
- Passion for the arts and commitment to the mission of nonprofit theatre
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
- Availability to work at least 10 hours, Monday-Friday occasional evenings or weekends for events
- Proficient with technology, including Microsoft products: Word, Excel, Outlook, Forms
- Experience in one or more of the following: marketing, database management, fundraising, grant management, grant writing, nonprofit management, or sales
Helpful Experience
None of the below qualifications are required, but any would be beneficial for this position:
- Proficiency in social media platforms and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite a plus)
- Familiarity with donor management software and email marketing platforms (e.g., AudienceView, Mailchimp)
- Familiarity with Wordpress or other website management
- Experience with grant writing and/or management
- Experience working for or with nonprofits, charitable foundations, or arts organizations
- Awareness of DEI best practices and/or ADA accommodations
