Corporate Development Associate

Pro Athlete is seeking a Corporate Development Associate who will play a key role in driving the company’s growth initiatives by identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and new business ventures. This role involves performing financial analysis, conducting industry research, supporting due diligence, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the company’s long-term strategic goals. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paces, dynamic environment. This position may also be referred to as a Corporate Development Analyst.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Opportunity Evaluation: Identify and analyze potential acquisition targets, partnership opportunities, and strategic investments that align with the company’s goals
  • Financial Modeling & Valuation: Build, refine, and maintain complex financial models to assess the financial impact of transactions, including valuation, ROI, and sensitivity analysis
  • Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Conduct market research to assess industry trends, competitive dynamics, and potential business risks, providing insights to guide corporate strategy
  • Due Diligence Support: Assist in all phases of the due diligence process for mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, coordinating with internal teams and external advisors to gather relevant information
  • Transaction Execution: Support the negotiation, structuring, and execution of deals, working closely with senior management and legal advisors
  • Post-Transaction Integration: Collaborate with various departments to ensure the successful integration of acquired companies or partnerships, monitoring performance against key metrics
  • Internal Stakeholder Communication: Prepare and present findings, financial analyses, and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met and deliverables are of the highest quality
  • Assist in building business plans for new businesses we choose to start from scratch
  • Build a solid network of connections within and outside our industries
  • Help formulate a plan for growth after the acquisition
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or management consulting
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and corporate finance principles
  • Experience with M&A, due diligence, or corporate transactions is preferred


Skills:

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and market research
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively to senior leadership
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners
  • Be comfortable operating without a set budget as that is not in our DNA as a business
  • Have an understanding of how an acquisition would fit into our umbrella of brands
  • Understand today’s media and influencer business
  • Be great at following up!

Work Environment:
Pro Athlete is currently operating under an optional hybrid work environment. Employees can work on-site Tuesday through Thursday or they can work remotely 100% of the time.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
We are flexible in the arrangement for this position ranging from part-time to full-time employment. Other arrangements may be made for the ideal candidate.
